Tomorrow and Friday you will be seeing all the other kits from the DT. Be sure to check the newsletter for a complete picture of this kit and the next two days for the other kits we will be carrying. This card I used the large gold flower brad with some satin ribbon, one of my favorites. I stamped the tree from Forest of Trees set on two nessties and layered them on dimensionals. I sponged around the tree for some color and added some sponged clouds. I am getting better with those clouds. Kind of a cool guy anniversary card. And I still got the ribbon on here, hee hee. Hidden Treasures.... Aarrrrr...

This is something that I have worked on for a few days. I just could not get it just right till now. WHOHOO... I love when that happens. So here is my idea of having a hidden map of a treasure in a card. Looks like a normal card, you can write on the inside etc. Then......

you look a little closer and see that if you pull on the boat flap you have a hidden map underneath. Isn't this cool. I was like a kid making this. I was thinking of the boys the whole time I made this card. I might have to given it to them tomorrow for their birthday, that way I get to keep the card forever. LOL
This is a new set from Clear Dollar Stamps called Smooth Sailing and Lost at Sea. Now be gentle this is my second time trying to make *clouds* and I think I did okay. I hope you enjoyed my fun. See you back here on Friday for Flourishes Friday Focus. Have a great day.

    Lunch notes for DH

Saturday a day of relaxing... NOT... more like a day of yard work, cleaning, planting flowers. haha But its so worth the end result. Well I snuck away while DH is mowing the lawn and made him a quick set of lunch notes for him. I made a set for the boys the other day and he said he *used to get little notes but not anymore... the honeymoon is over*. LOL
This is a new set from Flourishes released last night called A Man's View. I just think this set is totally cool. The flat screen TV is so my DH style. hee hee I used my spellbinders label One to make these little 4x4 note cards. I also used it to make the frames around the images. Fun little set I think.

Nasturtiums Shadow box Sneak Day one

Today is day one of Sneak Peeks for Flourishes May new releases. This new set is called Nasturtiums, now how that is said is beyond me. LOL I got this shadow box frame and altered it for a gift for my SIL who is moving into her new house here in a few weeks. This is the full view of the shadow box frame.

Here is a picture a little closer for you to see. I have some of the flowers popped up and the leavesl. I stamped the flowers in a black archival ink. Then I watercolored them and then went back over them with a marker to highlight some areas. I added some butterfly punches and some jewels. I used a sentiment from the set as well. If you stand from the side you can see more of the flowers along the sides, but from the front you only see some, I can't get a great picture without a ton of glares.

Here is an even closer picture. Please note that the lighting of set the camera in the background so it makes it look funny with my shadow. Sorry. hee hee Hope you have enjoyed day one. Be sure to check out the girls sneaks also below.

MMM A Gate fold you say....

This weeks House Mouse and Friends blog challenge is to make a gate fold card. I haven't done one of these folds forever infact I had to remember how to cut this right. I messed up a few times, good thing for extra cardstock. LOL
I used a soft colored paper from memory box called Sweetbay. I colored the flowers in a soft barely banana ink and assembled the gate fold. I do like how this turned out. I can't get it to closed for the picture without my hands holding it, so I just took it with it open. :0)

    Friday Focus Watercoloring

Over on the Flourishes newsletter Julie is going to show you different ways to watercolor with different elements.
For my card I used ink from the lid in my ink pad. I kept this very simple so the focus is on the tree. I used three different ink pads and as you can see the camera picked them up very well, which doesn't make me happy. It blends and looks much better IRL. Darn camera picks stuff up when you don't want it to and not when you need it to. LOL Be sure to check out the newsletter and see the variety you can have with watercoloring! And check out the DT cards.
