Velvet Sunflowers

Happy Monday and day Two of Power Poppy's Sneak Peeks! Today is warm and cozy like with our new Sunny Harvest. Did you know that Sunflowers come in several hybrid colors? I found these cool Velvet Orange and red sunflowers on Pinterest, here is a photo of what I found for inspiration.

I am not sure I quite got the orange right as this seems more of a reddish color, but I do like how it turned out. My frame is using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles with a circle cut in the middle for my sentiment underneath. A few enamel dots for the edge and voila! Super easy peasy today!

FS390 Farmers Market

Happy Sunday and welcome to Power Poppy's August sneak peeks! We have some fabulous designs coming your way the next few days. Today we are showing you Farmers Market. I bet your mouth is watering right now isn't it.  :-) Mine was as I colored this up for my creation.

This weeks Featured Stamper 390 is Heidi aka stamptek. Wonderful gallery with so many creations that you want to case. I choose this Punch Art Watermelon card to case. I kept with the over all layout, layers, fruit and colors. Changed the stamp, papers, sentiment and added ribbon. Enjoy your week Heidi!

My apples from Farmers Market  that are stamped on white card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored with various Copic markers. I kept with Heidi's layers mostly and used Spellbinders ovals. I wanted some polka dotted paper instead of the gingham I usually use just for fun. Added some gingham ribbon though to make up for the paper. hee hee  A few enamel dots and voila!

Home Renovation take 1

I promised you some pictures and here they are. This has several photo's so grab a cup of coffee and walk through my house with me.   :-) These were actually take about 2 weeks ago so the house is some what clean, I did say some what!
This first photo is what you see standing from the front entry way of the house. My sisters little baby bassinet is over by the couch for when I have my nephew over. Some of you might recognize the dining room chairs that my mom and I re-upholstered a few Christmas back. Yes that is a stuffed Olaf from the movie Frozen on the couch.

Next if you walk into the living room a little and look to your right you can see into the kitchen and family room. We are switching these two rooms around with the renovation. The old family room will be the new dining room and the front living room (where we are now) will be the new family room.

If you walk over towards the kitchen and look back at the living room you see the front bay window. That cream rose furniture we have had since we got married 15 years ago. It is still in great condition and has lasted quite nicely through the boys and the dog. :-)  We will be selling it however as we won't need two sets of furniture and I will want new furniture at some point. But for now we will stick with the one set we will keep. There will be new carpet in here of course, and this will be the new family room.

The vinyl flooring will be coming up along with the carpet you see in the back. This is where all the tile will be installed and the dining room will be the back part.

If you look up this is the view of the old family room soon to be dining room. Yea!!! Sorry for the messy counters.  All that carpet will soon be tile! We will be painting that maroon wall to a willow (light celery) color that you see on the right hand side in the kitchen. Those are sound deadning panels on the back wall. My husband hasn't quite figured out how he wants to work the surround sound now that we don't have the set up as we wired the house 11 years ago when we built it. We didn't plan on staying here or moving the rooms around. However we are excited to be making the changes and that just means he can get something new for surround. Oh boy....

If you stand at the hallway opening you can see the TV wall (soon to hold one of the hutches and the other wall for the smaller one) and the opening hall to our bedroom. The main bathroom will be getting tile installed as well since ours already has tile from original building. The rest of the house will have new carpet through out!
So that is the old home as I keep calling it. The new home will be coming in the next two weeks or so. The house is all packed except for a few things. I will show you pictures when we are all complete with the change. Very exciting and a lot of work! Thanks for taking a tour of part of my home with me.  :-)

Don't worry as I have all my Power Poppy sneak peeks done and ready to show off come Sunday 27th! We have some awesome stuff coming your way so be sure to check back in. Have a wonderful day!

Tasty sip is all

Happy Tuesday! A fun little creation for you today using Bistro! This is from a previous secret kit, however available in Digi now. Mine is stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers.

Used some scrap kraft card stock for the strips layered onto some dry embossed maroon card stock. Wrapped some twine around and tied off my Cutterly Die Light and a button center. Easy Peasy!

We had a scare last night as the contractor called to say that he wanted to know if we could push back one week the install. GASP!!!  We talked it over and we just couldn't move it a week. Thankfully! I was about ready to scream if we moved it a week. We already moved it a week to help him out and then he wants another. No way! It all works out in the end I guess but I just want this done and over with already! I have pictures to share tomorrow of the "before" house for you so stop back in if you like.  I hope you are having a wonderful day.

I will have pictures of the "before" on Wednesday, then when its all done I will share the "after" photos with you. He is then die cut using ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern then layered onto some dark chocolate card stock die cut in ODBD Vintage Label die. ODBD July Rewind

Welcome to Our Daily Bread designs rewind of our July release. Check out the ODBD Blog for all the creations in one post. These pennants are fun and the dies to match are fabulous! My first creation is using the Window Card technique with the Happy banner on the outside. When it lays flat the banner on the front and the Birthday banner on the inside line up together. The Sentiments are using Pennant Swag 2 from our July release. They front banner is cut using ODBD Custom Die Pennant Swag.
Here is the inside with the birthday stamped onto the card insert along with the beautiful Rose stamp colored with Copic markers. Added some pearls to the inside banner as well as the front.

My second creation, I thought it would be fun to have the Pennant Swag Die in some polka dotted designer paper. Added fancy pearls to the corners and my Foxglove Bloom stamped from the side angle. The textured background is using another ODBD custom die called Quatrefoil Pattern. I did cut a few of the blooms and pop them up on dimensionals for fun. Voila!

A2 Easel Fold

Supplies

Cutting mat, card stock, designer paper, adhesive and score tool

Step 1

Form a standard A2 size card. 4 1/4 width x 5 1/2 inch length scored and folded in half.

Step 2

Score front piece at 2 1/2 inches from the seam. Crease for easel fold. I wrote bottom in pencil so you will see where to adhere next piece.

Step 3

Cut a piece of white card stock 4 1/8 inch width by 5 1/4 inch length. Adhere to the bottom piece only. This is a side view of how it will look once the bottom piece is secure.

Step 4

Add designer paper or solid card stock over solid white card stock

Step 5

This is the piece that will hold the front easel panel up. You can use card stock as I am, or flowers or buttons. I cut two pieces of matching card stock and secured them to the inside panel 1 3/4 inches from the top

Step 6

Here is the easel fold from a side view. The card stock holds the panel in place. Punched flowers or even buttons are another great accent to hold the panel in place as well

Step 7

Here is my final Easel Fold using Dynamic Duos. I colored the blooms with Copic markers and cut them out and added dimensionals to the back. The scalloped edge is using Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One die and a few pearls to finish it off. Enjoy!

Dahlia Easel fold

Good morning! Well we have several of the bookcases packed up, some toys and stuffed animals gone through. We are making progress! Decided a break was in need so I played with Dynamic Duos today and created an A2 Easel Fold creation. I have a tutorial on how I created this as well HERE if you are interested.

The blooms are colored with Copics and cut around with dimensionals added to the back. Created a curved fancy edge using Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders one die. Added a few pearls and a ribbon bow to finish it off. Here is the card opened into the easel fold. Voila!

If you want to create your own Dynamic Duos easel fold, check out my A2 Easel fold tutorial. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Angel tag

This is a little tag I created that didn't quite turn out like I pictures. I thin my yellow card stock is too dark, a lighter shade would of been better. But its glued down now, what do you do? ha!  This sweet guy is called Angel Henry. I added the pretty Angel Wings Di-Light with a few pearls to the edge as it matches his wings. Wrapped some lace trim and ribbon around the designer paper. Voila!

Pink Gladiolies

Happy Monday! Did you have a nice hot weekend like we did? We have a record week coming for us apparently this week, suppose to be 115. ACK!!! Means indoors for us this week! I have a flower creation to share today.

Was in a pink mood when I created this card using Gladioli. My first one was in a rather teal blueish color so I went with pink this time. Die cut them with a Spellbinders classic circle, that I then layered onto a kraft cut Spellbinders Decorative Labels Twenty Two. Wrapped some lace trim and ribbon around the center. Tied off  a button and twine to my ribbon bow. Finished it off with a few pearls. Voila!

I mentioned last week that we are getting new carpet in the house and tile installed here at the end of the month. Did you know that when you do this, you are basically packing up your entire house as if you are moving? Oh my word!  We have broke the install up into two parts. The first will be the kitchen and dining room as that will have tile installed. The stuff in these rooms are rather large and fairly easy to move. The carpet is a whole new ball of wax. We have to pack up everything to move it out. Beds, dressers, toys, bookcases, decorations etc....  Do you know how much stuff you gather over the years? Gasp!!! Needless to say this week is going to be as I said record breaking high temps, so we will stay inside and start packing up the house. Not fun, but we might have enough stuff for a yard sale which would help move stuff out and give us a little cash. ha ha!!! I did sell some of our furniture last weekend from the front living room. We are doing a whole move around of rooms that I will share later and will make more sense. Well for those that are interested.  :-)  Enough of my babbling... Hope you have a wonderful day!
