Happiest Holidays Coll.2 Heaven and Nature Sing

Good morning! Today is day four of our Happiest Holidays Collection 2 with the gorgeous Heaven and Nature Sing set. These little birdies are on a branch of holly berries and leaves with a few big Hellebore (Lenten Rose) blooms for a splash of pizzazz. Once again the ever so talented Marcella has drawn a fantastic set that I know you will have in your Power Poppy Collection shortly.  ;-)  Check out her inspiration over on the Power Poppy Blog today.

Once I saw this set I knew exactly the fold I wanted to create for this gorgeous image. This is a standard A2 card opening from a side view. I cut 2 inches off the edge of the front so that you can see the inside a bit with the flower stamped on the corner but the sentiment is hidden when folded. I stamped the image on white card stock, colored with Copics. Then I die cut using Radiant Rectangles that is layered onto a evergreen card stock die cut in Resplendent Rectangles. Added some textures to the background panel with the ever loved Swiss Dots and tied some gold cord around the end before adhering down to the front. A few of the gold Sequins to the corners and voila!  Hard to see in the photo but I do have some gold seduko gel pen added to the leaves for sparkle that you can see in real life.  ;-)  Below is the inside when the card is open.

Happiest Holidays Coll. 2 Merry little's

Welcome to day three of our Happiest Holidays Collection 2 with Merry Little's. These little guys are so much fun to work with. They are sized as tiny focal points, create a border or they would make great accents. Marcy has some inspiration behind this set over on the Power Poppy Blog if you are interested.

This is a rather simple hot cocoa packaging as they need something that can be reproduced in large demand by a bunch of teen kids. ha ha  All the supplies will be cut and ready to assemble by a room of 7th graders. These are easy enough  and creative to sell at the holiday bizarre. This was as cute and simple as I could get without having to hover over them all as they are assembled.  :-)   The little cup of cocoa was perfect for these hot cocoa packets too. Stamped on white card stock and colored with Copics. I die cut using Spellbinders small ovals and layered onto a Decorative Labels Twenty Two die. A fancy edge in kraft card stock using A2 Bracket Borders One. Some stickles on the steam swirls and voila!

Happiest Holidays Coll.2 O Holy Night

Welcome to day 2 of our October release with our beautiful O Holy Night. If you missed day one be sure to check it out on the Power Poppy blog, Marcella has some inspiration behind the new set for you. This classic snow-covered church on Christmas Eve in this set is intended for creating make-and-go cards or color to your hearts content. A must have for your Christmas Collection.

I have to say this did not match what I had pictured yet I do like how it turned out. I had seen several of these evening pictures of wintry night scene's and early dawn scene's that were super cool. I tried to replicate that here with the morning sun rising in yellows.  Added a Spellbinders A2 Bracket Border One edge and just a few jewels in the corner with added sparkles. Voila! Another simple Christmas card done.

Happiest Holidays Collection 2

You read that title correctly. Welcome to Power Poppy's Happiest Holidays Collection take TWO. Yes another beautiful and fabulous Christmas collection coming to you. So grab a cup of coffee and sit back for some pure gorgeous designs from our very own Marcella Hawley!

Today we are sharing with you the new Bough Wow Wow!  Fun name for a stamp set, right? Marcy has some inspiration behind this set if you want to check out the Power Poppy Blog. Let's put some Wow into these Christmas Boughs! This set features two splashy, greenery-stuffed swags, each one is large enough to take center stage on a card.

I stamped the image onto white card stock and colored with various Copic markers. I went with warm colors and the little pom-poms in browns with the ribbon to match. Also stamped the little heart in the set, colored and cut around to pop it up once done. Added some sparkle to the sprigs and voila! Another easy peasy Christmas card done.

Snowman Family

Welcome to North Coast Creations October release. A super fun set to show you today called Snowman Family. Yes another snowman for me, hee hee.. My first one is rather bold with all the red, and white. I do like smiles they all have as they go rushing down the hill of snow. They are stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. I have added sparkles to the snow and some sequins my new favorite embellishment.  :-)

My second card using Snowman Family is a classic "Stacy" with blue and white color scheme. You knew this was coming, right?  I have them stamped in blue ink and then used my aqua brush while the ink was still wet to bring some of the blue over the image. The beautiful silver background paper is from the new Winter Collection 2014 available November 1st layered on a Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles frame. I added some blue sequin to this creation as well with added sparkles. Voila!

ODBD Christmas Greetings

Welcome to Our Daily Bread designs rewind of the October Release. For those of you that subscribe to my blog you got a treat and saw this last Friday. Big oops, hey life happens ya know.  ;-)   In case you missed them, no need to fret. You can see the new release HERE or on the ODBD Blog.

My first creation today is another poinsettia gift tag for my friends request. This one she asked for a longer ribbon handle almost like an ornament hanger I think, as well with a folded tab so she can write a few more words inside. This is the one I created using the new Poinsettia Ornament stamp that is stamped on white card stock and colored with Copics. After the image was colored I die cut using the new ODBD custom Matting Circles die and a silver foil topper from the die set. I did layer my poinsettia out and I have a tutorial here if you would like to see and create your own Poinsettia Tag. Added to the tied off silver cord a white new Peaceful Poinsettia Die with a pearl center. Voila!

My second card is a favorite as the warm country feel is what I was going for and achieved I think. this is the beautiful new Wisemen Ornament that is stamped in caramel ink and die cut again using ODBD custom Matting Circle die. Layered onto a kraft ODBD custom Doily Die that is popped up on dimensionals. A layer of cream lace trim using the Lace Technique tutorial and a burgundy ribbon bow that has a crown etched button for the center. Perfect for the image don't you think? A bit of sparkle all over the ornament and voila!

Be Merry and simple

Good morning. I am working on a few clean Christmas cards that are easy to make large quantities of. This one is using the new Bottlebrush Holiday stamp set from Power Poppy. The splash of color against the white just makes me smile. My image panel is popped up on dimensionals with a hint of sparkle added to the tree.

Rounded my corners for fun since I have not done that forever. Scrap piece of designer paper with a spellbinders edge. Voila! See how easy this is. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Good morning. This weeks Featured Stamper 402 is non other than Crafty Julia. She is a devoted fan of SCS and I am thrilled we are honoring her gallery. Julia has several House Mouse creations that are darling and i choose this Floral Thank you to case. I kept the same stamp, ruffly like edges, over all colors and pattern paper. Changed the shape, papers and sketch. Congrats Julia and enjoy your week.

Stamped in memento black ink and colored with Copics, then layered on chocolate card stock. Framed base using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles die cut in pink card stock.Wrapped some lace trim and a ribbon twine combo to finish it off. Voila! Hope you get to play along this week.

Poinsettia Tag

Supplies

Silver cord, ribbon, Copics, Poinsettia Ornament stamp, ODBD Custom matting Dies, accents you desire.

Step 1

Stamp three Poinsettia Ornaments out and color three different layers. The flower is already designed with a few layers for you, which makes for ease when layering. When coloring remember that you are going to be covering the center, so no need to color the full image unless you desire to. Cut around the two right hand flowers and set aside.

Step 2

Cut a piece of pink card stock 6 1/2 inch length by 3 3/4 inch width and folded in half. Then place your matting circle die just above the fold and die cut to create the folded circle. using a sharp edge unfold and slit just enough on the fold to add your foil silver topper from the matting circle die. I forgot to photo this step, but thought it was pretty straight forward. The photo on the right shows you the inside when you slide the topper into the slot on the fold

Step 3

Wrap some ribbon around the center towards to the top to create the loop. This will hide your ring from the topper and fold over when complete. Fold and turn over to tie the top with silver cord for now

Step 4

Die cut the full colored Poinsettia Ornament using matting dies and adhere to the front of tag. Over to the side you will see the other two poinsettias we colored cut around for layering. Add dimensionals or pop up dots to the back of those two for layering on the tag

Step 5

Here is the middle layer added to the tag front. This is why on the base tag there is no need to color the full image. You cover all that with the layers. Add the center and finish.

Step 7

My final Poinsettia tag. I added a Peaceful Poinsettia to the silver cord tied top. Along with a few silver pearls to the center of the flower. Enjoy your new tag!

Simple blank note

Sometimes you just need a note card without a sentiment, well I do. Not sure this turned out quite like I wanted yet it doesn't not seem like I planned if that makes any sense at all! Anyways... I stamped my Azaleas onto white card stock, colored with Copics and fussy cut around the blooms. Added dimensionals to the back as they will pop up off the Nobel Rectangles die cut in white card stock. The base layer is a textured Bazzill pink card stock you see through the die cut. A few of my shimmery Candi dots and voila!  Have a fabulous day.

Christmas Buddy

Oh my word... Are they not cute or what! Good morning! This is another one of the new Whipper Snappers I just got called Snowman harmony. Oh they are so stinkin fun to color! I have them stamped on white card stock and colored with various Copic markers. A simple scored border for the matting and dimensionals to pop the panel up. This designer paper is from the Lawn Fawn Snow Day paper pack. Added a ribbon bow with some sequins (yes I am addicted to these things) and a sentiment circle. Voila!

The football season is coming to an end for the kids. Sorta bummed as they only had 8 games. However we won't be bored for long as in just a week basketball starts. No rest for the weary they say!  ;-)  They are excited to play basketball this year and all the fun it will bring. Hope you are having a wonderful week!

Sweet Avery thanks

Good morning! A fresh and cute thank you card today using Avery's summer afternoon that is printed on white cardstock. I have colored her with spring colors as the designer paper was calling my name. Wrapped a few buttons with twine and stamped my sentiment with a die cut circle for fun. Voila, springy and sweet! This is for a friend request of cards that I am sure she will love. Thanks for stopping in today!

I kept the colors, Christmas tag and over all design. Changed the stamp, ribbon and placement of the button. Congrats Angie! Hope you can play along this week!

This is another design using a poinsettia for the gals at DH work.  I used the new Peaceful Poinsettia's die for my corner accent with a sparkles center. My sentiment is stamped on white card stock and die cut using Elegant Ovals. Tied off a ribbon and button at the top with some silver cord. Of course you see these white and silver Sequin because I can't get enough of them lately. hee hee  Hope you have a wonderful day!

May your days be merry and bright

Happy Power Poppy Friday! Are you excited for the weekend? We have a busy weekend at the school getting the fields ready for baseball this spring. I tell you volunteer work is always interesting.  It is great to see the kids involved and helping too so I am not complaining. Although rolling out a bunch of sod Sat. sounds like a workout to me.  :-)

Today I have a Christmas gift using the new Poinsettia stamp just released. One of the gals requests poinsettia gift tags every year. This year she would like a few of each different design. So here is one that I will make a few of. My poinsettia is stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers.

I used Dina's tutorial found HERE for this as I stamped my poinsettia but only used part of the image. I die cut a scallop pink edge and tied some ribbon and twine with a button combo. Added my sentiment and some of the new sequins that I am totally having fun with as of late. Voila!
