Santa organizer

Happy Monday! We had a weekend full of basketball games and two more before a small break for Christmas. They are playing great, its exciting to watch. I did get another gift done using one of Power Poppy's 12 days of Christmas tutorials. This one is Mindy's Christmas Organizer which you can find HERE. What a fun idea and so simple, I adore it! Don't forget if you play along and create ANY of the 12 days of Christmas posts we shared (full listing found HERE) and you post it to the link list found HERE you have a chance at winning $50 to the Power Poppy Store!

My organizer is using the darling Flowering Santa and Holly Golightly stamp set. Santa is in the center and colored with various Copic markers. Then I stamped the holly around the edges just to act as a frame for the face. Added glitter to all the beard, hat and the holly. It is sparkly in real life I promise.  Now since I changed the direction of the cover I wrapped cord around the center just as Mindy did just the other direction.

The inside I added designer paper to each of the flaps and a scallop edge using ODBD Beautiful Borders. Now to find what I want to put inside, the fun part. :-)  I hope you get a chance to play along in our 12 days of Christmas! Have a wonderful day.

Holly Jolly gift tags

Happy Wednesday! This is a quick gift tag that I needed for several goodie bags. I did buy these as I spent all day Sunday making goodies for friends, these is for my husband's work. They get the bought goodies.  ;-)
I used the stamp set Holly Golightly that I stamped and colored. Then I cut around the tag and layered it onto a stitched die cut rectangle. Added some sparkle to the holly and berries a sequins accents and of course sparkle.

Most of the time I forget to take the picture of completed project, so I took a quick one before I forgot. Here is the box below with all the ones he handed out yesterday.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!

Snow very sweet treat box

Good morning! Have you been playing along in our Power and Spark challenge this month? We are sharing12 days of different tutorials of fun gift ideas for you or others. Some very creative and fun ideas that are sure to make anyone smile. I decided to create a fun little box using Julie's day 5 tutorial and the stamp set Snow Kissed

This came together super quick! I have those Ghiradelli squares inside you can see some of the end on the left. Maybe I put too many in, hee hee  After all the scoring and cutting I stamped the snowflakes from Snow Kissed onto the base for a decorative outside. Then I stamped my snowman and colored with various Copic markers. I think looking at it now it is missing some sequins or jewels around the sentiment. I will have to add that now that I look more.   :-)  Sparkle is on the snowflakes and my snowman. Voila!

Hope you get time to play along this month, you have 12 days of fun ideas! Enjoy!

No fuss gfit tag

Happy Sunday! Yes, another gift tag for you today. This one is quite simple and really quick to put together since I let all the dies do the work.  The only draw back is I used some of my Birds and Berries designer paper for my color inspiration and you can't even see it now that I covered it with the poinsettia punch. What was I thinking? The base tag is an old retired Die Light from Whiff of Joy that is closed. I die cut the tag and then layered some olive card stock (to match the designer paper you can't see ha ha ) and bring out the hearts at the bottom. Added my designer paper to the center.

Then I die cut a few layers of Peaceful Poinsettia's that I sponged with pink ink before I removed the die. Layered using dimensionals to pop it up and rolled out the petals. I have a tutorial to show how I make the layers of the poinsettia found here. Then tucked into the petals is the sentiment tag using the tiny matching tag from the die set and sentiment For you from Under Glass Christmas Traditions stamp set. Tied off my ribbons added sparkle and jewels and voila! So maybe not really quick but it was quicker than if I had to color an image.
Remember Power Poppy is sharing the 12 Days of Christmas with quick tutorials and a way for you to win some Power Poppy Bucks. Check out the posts and play along. Thanks for stopping by today.

Soft side of santa

Good morning! Did you see over on the Power Poppy blog we are celebrating the 12 days of Christmas? We have had so much fun sharing tutorials and gift ideas with you to try. Not to mention the Power and Spark challenge is to create one or all of our tutorials to be in the running for $50 in Power Poppy bucks if you play along and link your creation. It's a great way to get some quick gifts done and you have a chance at winning too. Be sure to check it out and post it on the first day of our 12 days of Christmas HERE.

Miss Katie did some darling little gift tags for day one and I thought I would make one using Flowering Santa. The one I created before was more brown's and teals for the Hues to Use challenge found HERE, but I wanted one with pink and white this time. Santa's face is stamped on white card stock then die cut with a circle and one layer out of pink in circle.
He is colored with various Copic markers. I then added his panel layer to a decorative Spellbinders die cut in white card stock. Punched a hole at the top to thread my ribbon through and tied off the sentiment tabs. I added a pink tag behind the sentiment and a sequins added to the end. The sentiment is from Holly Golightly stamp set. Then some more sequins and added sparkle. Voila!

Hello! No I didn't forget to post my December calendar page, I was waiting until you really wanted to look at it. ha ha  Kidding... I did forget, gasp!  This is the last one for the year using Simple Joys stamp set. I did add sparkle to this one as well. Not sure I will do another year of calendar pages... Masculine Christmas tag

Good morning. I need a few masculine feeling Christmas tags this year. One of the people this is for is an avid hunter, so these deer die cuts I thought would be perfect. The birch wood background die is cut to fit between the red border and glued to the stitched border base to create a window look.

I then added a die cut grass (which you can hardly see) to the base and some punched sprigs across the bottom. A few jewels for the center. Some sparkle along the branches to look like snow and my sentiment from Holly Golightly stamp set. Ribbon and twine and voila! I like how this turned out and hopefully he does too.

CHRISTmas in December

Good morning and happy December. Well I am just getting around to posting my creation for the December Dirty Dozen Christmas challenge today, sorry about that. This months challenge is all about Birth. Christ birth, anything from the stable, shepherds, north star, stable etc. Hope you can play along this month.

I stamped my retired Clear Dollar Stamps scripture and then stamped lightly the Unity stable image and colored with light copic colors. Layered onto some Spellbinders decorative die cuts. The Berries and Birds designer paper was my inspiration for the colors. Found some older felt snowflakes I still have and added that to bring out the red berries a bit more. Some flourished pearls and ribbon to finish it off. Voila!

Added a little bit of sparkle and some sequins accents to the front. Below is the inside with a sentiment and shadow of an image from Under Glass Christmas Traditions stamp set. Voila!

Gobble Gobble sale

Good morning. Hopefully you had a wonderful and delicious Thanksgiving with family and friends.  :-)  We have a Black Friday sale for you at Power Poppy. That's right you don't want to miss this sale. Marcy has more info over on the PP Blog for you. Be sure to check out the deals!

Today I have a creation that is Leslie inspired. It is no secret that I adore Leslie's work, the woman can do anything on paper I tell you. She is always coming up with beautiful ways to inspire me. I had tagged this wedding card found HERE that is beautiful elegance to case at a later date. I like the colors and the layout and thought of recreating that with a Christmas theme. So here it is.

I textured the pink base with a berries and pine embossing folder that I have used I think twice. The decorative scallop edge was one of things that I liked about her card to begin with. Layered my image from Rustic Rejoicing onto a scallop edge to match the base layer. Added my sentiment to the top corner and some jewels and sparkle finish it off. Voila!

So Grateful book

Finally you say... a fall themed creation. I did say I had one but needed to wait to post it for two reasons. One is it was a gift for my sister that now has this in hands. Second it was designed using the Hues To Use colors on the PP blog today.  :-)  Sneaky huh... ;-)

Back in 2002 I created a book that we write in every Thanksgiving with what we are thankful for over the last year. I have posted a picture of what our book looked like before as I had remade the original cover. It's always nice to look back over the years, especially the boys and what they write. How they develop more thoughtful and meaningful things to be thankful for as they have grown up. My sister wanted to start a book for her family so I created this one for her. And I must say I like her book more than my own now. HA!  I might need to recover mine again. Different skills and supplies come out over the years ya know.  :-)  Anyways...

The image is called Maize for Days that was printed to fit the panel I wanted. Various Copic colors were used to color the corn. A decorative Spellbinders die shape for the base. Some textured swiss dots to the cream panel and some colored brads added. Wrapped some crochet lace around the middle and some wrinkled ribbon that is probably the last of in my stash. Some gold sparkle added to the tops and voila!
My sister loved this book. I dedicated the first page in it to her family from ours. Thanks for stopping by today.

Joyful holiday wishes

Good morning. Winter Wonderland was calling my name for this creation. This paper is another one from the Birds and Berries pack. I really think I need to get another pack of that before it retires. ha ha. Haven't disliked a piece in the pack yet. Very simple today as I only used a portion of the image from Winter Wonderland.

This came together rather quick since it was only part of the image to color. Stamped my sentiments along the edge and scored around the base. The image panel is popped up on dimensionals from the base layer. A few jewels and of course sparkle. Voila! Have a wonderful day.

Berry Merry Christmas

It is Friday, yeah!!! Busy weekend planned for us as next week the kids have off for Thanksgiving break. So we are going to get all our "must do list" done this weekend so that we have a week to be free and play as they say. Woot woot! Some new goodies came in the mail today and I want to play with them next week too. Talk about incentive for mama. ha ha! Anyways...

A Christmas card using Berry Sweet Holiday stamp today. I used some more of my new Carousel Christmas paper from Bo Bunny for my card today. That was my color inspiration for the wreath. My leaves sparkle yet hard to see in the photo. I need a class on how to photo sparkle my goodness it is on just about all my cards. Added snowflake embossing to the square panel and tied some silver cord around the center. Added a button and cord bow to the edge and some jewels to finish it off. Voila!

Santa Tag

Happy Tuesday! Over on the Power Poppy Blog the new Hues to Use colors are posted as you can see below. Oh my.... Yep you knew I was playing when I saw these colors. Who doesn't love blue hues and browns and white. Fun fun fun!

With these colors I decided to ink up the new Santa image called Flowering Santa and create a tag. If you haven't bought this set yet you must go get it now. There is a lot of Santa stamps out there but this one is so different, I just adore it.

Colored his face first then added the blueish/teal color to the beard. I did keep some of his beard gray and white to help it stand out a little. Added some color to the edge of the circle panel and layered onto another white circle before the chocolate scallop base. Tied off all three colors of ribbon to the top.

Added my sentiment tag underneath the button before I tied it off with silver cord. A few rhinestones and some sparkle to finish it off. Here is a close up to see that the tips of his hair and beard have the sparkle added. Voila! Now go color and have fun today. :-)

Quick Poinsettia

Morning. Dreary weather outside sure does make it easy to sit inside for the weekend. I might as well enjoy it because this was our last free weekend again for awhile. Basketball starts up this week, the sports program needs to get going and sprinklers is just about done for Boosters. Oh the joys of being busy.  ;-)  Wouldn't have it any other way though.

Since it is dreary outside I was able to get into the stamp room for a bit and color. I thought I would play in the Portion Control challenge over on the PP Blog with this one. Stamped my Poinsettia in the two corners and colors with Copic markers. Added some designer paper to the base on the left and then added my image panel.
A few sequins and yes there is 4 instead of my traditional 3 because one dropped with glue on it and well it had to stay then. Can you tell which one that was? ha ha  Oh well... just more bling I guess. Some sparkles and voila! Hope you have a great day!

Season's Tweetings

Good morning. I don't know about you but I am amazed it is already two weeks until Thanksgiving. My word the days are going by too quickly it seems. Hopefully the weather holds up for those that are travelling this coming holiday. Well I have a Christmas card for you today not a fall one. However I did post a fall one earlier this week or at least fall feeling. hee hee  Don't worry a fall project is coming just before thanksgiving. It is a gift so I don't want to post it before I give it to her.  :-) On to today's creation....

These sweet little birdies are from Tweet Tidings. Are they not the cutest little chicks? My color choice was again from the designer paper I got a few days back called Birds and Berries. This pack is just awesome for color ideas.
Stamped part of the images onto my die cut square panels (which fits this months Power and Spark Portion Control) and then colored with Copic markers. Added a layer of embossed dots to the brown center panel. The sentiment is stamped and then a button and silver cord added to the corner. Added pearls and some sparkle to finish it off. Voila!

Barley Birthday

How about a little fall feeling card or at least fall colors? I get carried away with Christmas cards at this time and forget that there is other days to create for. haha The Hops & Barley new image was perfect for the occasion. The sentiments in this digi are perfect.

The green base is textured with a chicken wire embossing folders. Then a layer of plaid paper beneath the image panel. All die cut using stitched rectangles dies. Some old CTMH hardware for the corner and voila a fall feeling card.  Thanks for stopping by today.
